If you are looking for some Big Bass then you need bring your Passport and come fish Sugar Lake Mexico.

My last two weeks have been flip flopping from Falcon and Sugar. If it were a contest with most big fish per day the Sugar would win hands down. Even though Falcon is the premier lake in South Texas, Sugar is even better. My last several trips have just gotten better and better. We are averaging five fish stringers over 30 lbs. with the last trip on Saturday having fifty fish for the trip and the best five weighing 43 lbs. 3oz. My clients made the comment that they lost count of how many fish over five pound they caught. That’s good Fishing……

Patterns: Texas rigged worms and Football jigs are doing the damage. Watermelon Red Lizards and brush hogs took the honors for the 43 lb. stringer and crankbaits were hot as well. Fish humps and points.

Falcon Bass are on the Summer Pattern and the Bite is On!!!

The BASS Elite Tournament has proven that if you want to catch big fish then come to Falcon and Fish DEEP. Or come to fish Falcon and Fish Shallow….Come to Falcon and Fish moderate Depths. The common denominator is Falcon and Fish…….

South Texas is warming up with some days in the 100+ temps by late afternoon but the fishing is just as hot.

Trips since the BASS Elete tournament have been kicking out some really good stringers of Bass. I rate my trips by how many fish we catch that day and a total weight of the heaviest five fish caught that day. Even with days of strong north winds or the heat of South Texas Falcon has produced good numbers of fish each day and have averaged heavy stringers from 25 lbs. up to 40 lbs.on the best five fish. When you get on the big fish they will bite.

Patterns: Falcon Fish are “Fisherman Friendly”. You can catch fish on just about any bait, color, or size you throw.

Deep Wormin: I’ve been concentrating on points and humps using Football Jigs, Carolina Rigged and Texas rigged worms or lizards in various colors (Watermelon Red, Plum, Brown Orange, Pumpkin green).

Flippin:I have had several clients that wanted to Flip for the fish and we caught some good ones from 4 to 12 foot fishing flooded bushes and trees. (Jigs tipped with crawfish imitations, Worms in same colors as Texas Rigged are working)

Crankbaits: Crankbaits are working on points and humps as well. Just match the crankbait to the depth of water you are fishing. (Hotlips express and DD22 for deep water and Deep Little N and Square bills for Shallower waters)

Spinnerbaits: There is also and early morning Spinnerbait bite that will last until the South Texas Sun gets to high.

Just remember to protect your self from the sun  and drink plenty of water and your day will be one to remember on Falcon Lake.
